Course synopsis

Built for electrical engineers and lighting designers who want more than software skills, this program develops complete BIM professionals capable of working at both consultant and contractor levels on international projects. Across four structured levels aligned with IEC, NEC and ISO 19650, you progress from BIM foundations and AutoCAD drafting through power distribution, lighting design and photometric analysis, panel scheduling and load calculations, ELV systems, multi-discipline coordination, and a live capstone on real international projects. Hands-on training covers Revit MEP, DIALux, Relux, Navisworks clash detection, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360) collaboration, and Dynamo automation — preparing you for global AEC delivery.

  • Level 1 is your foundational launchpad into Building Information Modeling, equipping you with essential Revit skills for international projects. You will cover project initiation, advanced modeling using system and component families, material creation, and design-stage tools like solar study and Toposolid, alongside multi-dimensional visualization, professional annotation, and detailing.
  • Beyond modeling, you will gain expertise in custom parametric families, schedule extraction, and full MEPF modeling across HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems. Collaborative workflows, cloud-based tools, industry plugins, and global documentation standards ensure you are fully project-ready from day one.
Advanced Engineering Drafting
20 Hrs Project Oriented Sessions 20 Hrs Practice Sprints
  • Level 2 builds your proficiency in AutoCAD — the global standard for 2D engineering drawing — equipping you to confidently produce, read, and work with drawings across international mechanical engineering projects. You will master the AutoCAD interface, precision drafting tools, layering, object snaps, XREF management, and customized layouts for large-scale projects, alongside blocks, attributes, and isometric representation of mechanical piping and ductwork.
  • Beyond drafting, you will develop global standard documentation skills covering dimensioning, annotation, title blocks, viewport creation, and professional plotting templates
Advanced Electrical Engineering Design
30 Hrs Project Oriented Sessions 10 Hrs Practice Sprints
  • Level 3 moves you beyond modeling into core electrical engineering design, equipping you with the technical knowledge that separates a BIM Engineer from a just a Modeler. You will study electrical services in depth including lighting, power distribution, low-voltage and ELV systems, apply international design regulations including BS, NEC, DEWA, and IEC standards, and perform demand factor calculations, load estimation, and preparation of structured load schedules.
  • The level then progresses into advanced design deliverables, including lighting fixture selection and Dialux calculations for interior and exterior spaces, cable sizing aligned with de-rating factors, circuit protection, distribution board scheduling, and earthing design. You will produce professional SLD diagrams, schematics, riser diagrams. Power factor correction, transformer selection, generator sizing, and short-circuit considerations are covered through worked examples on live international projects, giving you the complete electrical design competency required to work independently at senior BIM engineer level across global AEC organizations.
Mastering BIM and Collaboration
80 Hrs Project Oriented Sessions 50 Hrs Practice Sprints
  • Level 4 takes you deep into advanced BIM skills, international standards, and collaboration workflows demanded by leading global consultants and contractors. You will master BIM Execution Plan (BEP) development, ISO 19650 information management, RIBA Stages, and LOD/LOI frameworks governing model deliverables across design and construction phases. Advanced electrical modelling progresses from LOD 200 through LOD 500, covering power, lighting, fire alarm, ELV, data, telecom, and earthing systems, with strong emphasis on clash-free coordination, federated model management, and QA/QC checking against international benchmarks.
  • You will gain practical experience in ACC, Navisworks for cross-discipline coordination, clash detection, and multi-stakeholder review workflows. Additional competencies include 4D scheduling, 5D cost integration, Dynamo automation, IFC and COBie open-BIM interoperability, and Scan-to-BIM workflows for LOD 400–500 progression. By completion, you will independently manage an electrical BIM discipline, deliver federated models, and produce compliance documentation senior clients expect.
